Ruger hand gun

I just picked up a Ruger P95 for $200. It came with the neutered 10 rd mags but was in the box and looks like it’s had less than a box of shells fired through it.
I’ve never owned a P95 before but have had two ruger single six (which I liked but traded off). I still have some of the P89 15 rd mags and they fit well in the P95.
It’s been a while since I’ve dealt with Ruger semiautos and it may be a week or so before I shoot it.
Is the P95 as good, better, or worse than the P89s?

Smith and Wesson j frame

I have a smith and wesson j frame grip I bought it for concealed carry purposes, but I haven’t quite found a setup I like. It came with a boot grip that I thought was too small to use. I couldn’t hold on to it well at all.

I bought a Hogue monogrip made of nylon, and absolutely loved the fact that it was a completely snag free draw. When I went to the range I found the gun rotated laterally in my hand too much and I was regripping between every shot. Follow up shots were not rapid at all. It didn’t matter how hard I gripped the weapon, I could not make it stop rotating. Not ideal for ccw needs.

I tried the Pachmayr compac and I love the way it feels in my hand when shooting, it doesn’t rotate at all and follow up shots are quick because it fills my hand well. I don’t like the rubber grip for ccw as it drags on clothing much too easily.

If anyone has any good ideas for a hand filling grip for the Smith and Wesson j frame revolver, please post recommendations and why. I prefer the wider grip of the Pachmayr compac but don’t want the rubber I would buy it if it were made of wood, but I cannot find any such beast on their web site.

Colt 45 1911

I want to make something happen. I always try to be fair in my dealing. I understand FN is no longer going to import the Hi Power; take that for what it’s worth in the effect on values.

Well I think I lost it. I offered to buy a colt 1911 part sight unseen the other day. The price seemed right so what the hell. Well the gentleman showed up with it and I bought it. I have to say I’m not a fan of nickle plating but it’s growing on me.
I can’t figure out the barrel set up. The barrel sticks out the front a half inch? It looks like a bull barrel with no p85 ruger. The guide rod is a full length one in blued.

Beretta 92F

Visions of owning a Beretta 92f have been playing in my brain since last friday when I saw one on consignment at one of the local fun 380 colt mustang . I only had time to take a quick look at it, because it was almost closing time. The Beretta 92 or M9 has been on my “To Buy List” for a while.

At $575 it was okay price for my area, plus it had Crimson Trace grips. So all week I’ve been trying to figure out a way to fit it into my gun buget. Because I had a Marlin 336 and a Norinco 97 on layaway there and a S&W 4006 on layaway at another Colt 1908 grip. Well I came up with a bit of extra cash so it’d fit the buget, so I head up there today and ask the gal to see it, good thing, in the better light of day (when I was there last, at night, the shop is really dark ) I noticed it had pretty good holster wear, so I asked if the owner was a LEO, the gal said yes, but only a reserve. The more I looked the stranger the wear patterns Beretta 92 fs . Worse yet the thing was caked in p93 ruger in every nook and cranny. I did a quick strip down and the p93 ruger was dirty. The more I saw the less I liked.

I hand it back and start to look for a Ruger Blackhawk in .357mag they had NIB, gone.

Then I notice a S&W model 59, chromed and the grip feels wrong.

Then next to the 59, under the phone on the counter, I see a nice Colt 1908 grip
